I.    Dates
A.  Board Meeting on Tuesday, October 14 will be attended by John, Cody, Mark, Amy, Julie
     and Anne.
December’s meeting may change date.  Will be notified.

B. The 403(b) Informational meeting will be on Wednesday, October 8.  There will be a session     at 2:45 and 4:00.  Both will be held in the High School MP room.  I will give each building
flyers to distribute announcing the times and location.
One more flyer to go out,
Ruebuesch, Smith to distribute in respective buildings
II.   Financial Report  (Janine, shared by Anne)
Up to date with Freking and Betz; negotiations paid for.

III.  Substitute Situation  (Anne)
Worst ever:  subs on phone, sleeping, internal coverage.  Contract is with Hamilton County
until end of year.  Madeira has the same contract, not experiencing the same problem.
Costing us in office staff time, planning time given up, unsupervised classrooms.
Oct. 16, administrators meeting to ask for feedback on the issue; possibility of internal pay,
wanting $25 per hour, district considering $17.70.  Wanting to start second semester, we are
insisting on roll out at start of second quarter.
·        What about comp time?  Teacher covers another, given release time at another time?
·        The issue could be discussed with the greater membership.    Is the District Leadership council formed?  (Terry, Jenn, John S., Melanie, Rick Whitt, +)

IV.  Quarterly Luncheon  (Discussion)
In an effort to bring the faculty and staff together during lunch, how about sponsoring quarterly luncheons?  IHEPO will pay for the food but everyone is welcome.  -would be feeding approx. 300 people
·        -Addendum illustrates priced options
·        -held semesterly, staggered if using Aramark
·        -Anne will send out survey by email to gather data on what food is desired.

V.   Winter Break Party  (Discussion)
The CCC would like help sponsoring a Winter Break Party for the entire faculty.
We will need a large venue to accommodate our crowd.  Perhaps having the party immediately after school would increase attendance?  Would anyone be interested in organizing?
·        -maybe in January/February (possibly connected to Winter Homecoming)
·        -bowling might be the Friday before Thanksgiving (nov. 21st), right after school
·        -Middle School has planned to use 50West for a Holiday Party; could be a good location for a
           Winter Party for IHEPO

VI.  Sharing from Committees
A.  Social Committee
B.  CCC
      1)  Upcoming Events:
High School Fall Play on Thursday, October 23rd and/or
Middle School Play on Friday, November 14th in
     2)  Ideas for the future:
Parent Advisory Board coordinated by Brad Kirk
·        interviewing parents that have had multiple children in a building, but all children have now moved on; interview for satisfaction with policies, programs and procedures in that school.
·        Series of speakers coordinated by CCC and funded by IH Foundation; for teachers, students, parents, community members.   How timed? (7-8 pm, not Fridays)  Could families bring small children, and HS students earn Community Service hours by babysitting?
        3)  Suggestions for events to attend during second semester?

VII. Other items
With early calendar start, conferences are really late.
·        -The ones that need earlier intervention with parents are typically seen earlier and independent of Conference Days.
·        -Could be different for different buildings, seek opinions of staff before end of month (District Leadership Council meeting).

·        -Pre-schedule some conference slots to get specific, high need parents to commit
